The Donkey and the Rock

The Donkey and the Rock

by Demi

Henry Holt, New York, New York       © 1999      30 pp.

In this ancient tale, a donkey knocks against a rock, and a large jar of oil sitting on the rock crashes to the ground. The donkey's owner blames the rock, the owner of the jar blames the donkey. The matter is brought to the king for judgement. The king, in full lotus posture (let the reader take note) creates a full solution, giving everyone what they need. Like a true guru, the king uses everything present to compose one satisfying result.
