The Magic Pillow

by Demi, writer and illustrator

Margaret K. McElderry Books, New York, 2008.

We first met Ping in Demi's book, The Empty Pot.  Here he is again in a new adventure taken from Chinese folklore: The Magic Pillow.
"One upon a time in China there was a boy named Ping. His family owned a poor little patch of land, but they were all very happy together. Ping had a little black pony. He liked to help out whenever he could.
One winter day Ping rode into the mountains to collect firewood. It began to snow so heavily and deeply that Ping suddenly realized he couldn't get home."

He doesn't know it yet, but thus began Ping's adventure for wisdom and truth.

Thank you Kathy H. for another wonderful Demi book, favorite illustrator to her family on the east coast as well as to both children and adults here in Eugene.
