The Way of Freedom: Conversations with Salvadore Poe

by Salvadore Poe

Knowing and the appearance of thoughts, emotions, sensations or sense objects are not separate. Within any appearance, is imbued the knowing of it. The knowing aspect of you never changes regardless of what’s appearing, just as the water of ocean doesn’t change when waves appear. Only the appearance, or form, aspect of you changes, just like the wave aspect of ocean changes. This is the meaning of non-separation. And since that is so, what is there to transcend and what is to merge with what?

Transparency of Experiences

Let’s be on holiday together.

. . . We tend to think that any experience—
thought, feeling, emotion or sense experience—
is something that I am aware of.

This is true.

But that can give the impression that I—
the one aware of the experience—
is somehow separate from the experience.

That is not actually the way it is.
It is more intimate than that.

Let’s look.

Whatever feeling or emotion is here, now in the body-mind,
whether it be positive, neutral, or negative,
be cognizant of it for a moment.

The knowing of this, whatever experience is happening now,
is not separate from the experience.

Knowing permeates the experience itself.

Whatever experience is here,
now is imbued with the knowing of it.

There is no separation.

Have a look.

The experience itself is transparent, insubstantial.
There is no solidity to it.
