It Ain't So Awful, Falafel

In Iran, eating a lot of food at someone's house is the polite thing to do. The hostess keeps insisting you eat more even after the top button of your pants has popped and you're lying on the floor, regretting the fourth helping. My dad had told me that in America, hosts don't push food on you. Still, I'm hoping Mrs Williams will say, "Have another! You barely ate anything." She doesn't. (p. 93)
